Art and artifacts at this St. Louis Loft

Col. Ronald Smith (he goes by Ronnie) recently retired in downtown St. Louis after 30 years in the U.S. Air Force —12 of which he spent traveling in Antarctica delivering supplies to scientific stations there as part of the U.S. Antarctic Program. Originally from the East Coast, he settled in St. Louis after a stint at nearby Scott Air Force Base and has integrated himself well into the local culture, particularly the local art scene.

In addition to his years of service to the country, Ronnie is a poet, artist and sculptor, as well as a collector of art and has used his spacious downtown loft as a gallery of sorts to display his own work and the large pieces he has collected by local and national artists, as well as artifacts from around the world.
