In 1913, an 11 story brick building was built in downtown St. Louis. Known as the Merchandise Mart Annex, the building was connected via tunnels to the adjacent building, the Merchandise Mart. As the garment industry flourished downtown, manufacturers exhibited their merchandise at these facilities.
The building at 417 North 10th Street is being transformed into open, airy loft condominiums ranging in size from 1,530 square feet to 3,800 square feet and priced at $ 120,000 to $ 280,000. Each unit features refurbished wood floors, exposed brick walls and seven-foot high windows. All available units were sold in six weeks and the 10th Street Lofts has the distinction of being the first “for sale” loft condominiums in St. Louis.
